Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has claimed that his teammate Jamal Musiala should have won the Kopa Trophy. Barcelona midfielder Gavi won the trophy.

However, Davies has said that Musiala will win the Ballon d’Or in the future. Bayern Munich’s manager has also made similar claims.

Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has claimed the committee selected the wrong winner for the Kopa Trophy. He feels Jamal Musiala should have won the trophy. However, Barcelona midfielder Gavi was the winner of the trophy. The Kopa Trophy is given to the best U-21 player of the season. Therefore, Davies also said that his Bayern Munich teammate Musiala will win Ballon d’Or in the future.

Davies wrote on Twitter,

They may have denied you of your Kopa Trophy, but they won’t deny you of your future Ballon d’Or #GoldenBoy.”

. Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann also made similar claims. He said,

You wear club glasses. In my eyes, however, Musiala and Bellingham have had a better season than the winner, Gavi, who is also doing well.”
