Can Arteta Complete a Double Deal with Man City?

As Lacazzate and Nketiah look set to leave this summer, Arteta has made signing a striker a priority. Almost on the verge of ucl game time for next season, the gunners will look to bolster their squad, especially the attack.

Already being linked with Gabriel Jesus, now the gunners are linked with Raheem Sterling. The English international’s contract is set to expire by 2023 but Arteta may not wait till then.

Arteta in for some Shopping

Arsenal’s interest in Sterling means that Mikel Arteta can pull a double-deal with man city with some discount. The double deal will be big which includes Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.

The contracts of both players are set to expire by 22/23 season. Cashing in rather than losing both on a free transfer would be logical as well as economically sound for City. The transfer of both will create space for Haaland and allow him to dominate.

Talking about stats, Raheem Sterling is a established premier league with 328 appearances. Till now he has scored 128 times with remarkable 200 goal involvement. In his time at man city, he averaged at least one goal or assist in every two matches.

Sterling and Man City

No other player from Man City’s squad has achieved this remarkable feat. Kevin De Bruyne is the next closest in terms of stats at 79 goals and 111 assists. Sterling has scored most against Watford in which he scored 11 times in 9 matches. He has almost all the trophies in his cabinet except the champions league.
Arteta is building something and is taking shape, Sterling could be the final missing piece of his jigsaw.

Sterling might have a slight idea about how Arteta sets up his team and the expectation in terms of assigned roles. Arteta has worked with Pep at Man City and has spent time with the player in training and designing game plans for fixtures.

Jesus remains the primary target of Arteta this summer and chances are high he might end up at the Emirates. With Haaland in the squad, there are high chances he might start games from the bench and sometimes may not even. Jesus is in a good form and a move away from Etihad seems reasonable for his growth.
