Gabriel Jesus of Man City: Deal ON or OFF?

Man City through the years have signed some fabulous have seen a couple of young attacking talents leave them over the past few years such as Leroy Sane and Ferran Torres.

The Summer window is almost at the door, and it seems like another prominent City player could be leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a lot of clubs and potentially we see him leaving in the coming months. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal has emerged as favorites for Jesus as the gunners are in desperate need of a striker.

25-year Brazilian will be out of contract by 2023 and Arsenal is exploring the possibility to sign Jesus this summer. This comes from David Ornstein who is a reliable source in the Arsenal community. Extensive talks between the representative but no developments between the two clubs.

Arteta Rebuilding The Gunners

Arsenal after years of suffering is finally at a very good place under Mikel Arteta. With champion league game time well in sight, Arsenal would be looking to bolster their squad for the upcoming battles. Signings from the last window have been sensational and the only place where the gunners lack is the number 9.

If we ignore the no. 9, the basis of the team is solid as it has players backed by quality with big potential. In a tweaked system, Smith-Rowe as number 8 and Martinelli as a forward can score as well as create chances.

Arteta has fixed the midfield, the defense backed by an outstanding goalkeeper, and it is now time to bolster the attack. With Nketiah, and Lacazzete set to leave this summer, Arsenal will spend big in the transfer window.

Jesus and his Significance for Man City

Talks have linked Arsenal to Isak, Kamara, etc. but Jesus is premier league proven. Since joining from Palmeiras back in 2017, the Brazilian has represented Man City 232 times across all competition netting 95 times and creating 46 chances.

Talking about the recent form, the ex-Palmeiras striker has scored six and assisted one in his last four league games. Jesus has been involved in 17 goal-creating actions which have been the highest by any Man City player this season. Seems very unlikely that Guardiola will allow Jesus to leave but with Erling Haaland on his way to the Etihad, possibilities are there.
