Chelsea is aiming to sign a £27,000-per-week star from a Premier League opponent

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano in an exclusive interview with GIVEMESPORT, Chelsea and Manchester City have spoken about the potential transfer of Cole Palmer to Stamford Bridge.

Blues manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is eager to close other transfer deals before Friday’s 11pm deadline. Chelsea have spent more than £350 million on reinforcements since the summer window opened for business.

Cole Palmer might be the latest addition to Chelsea

Chelsea and Manchester City are currently in negotiations, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. Cole Palmer said he would be open to a transfer move to Stamford Bridge during his talks.

According to the trustworthy reporter, the defending Premier League winners are not interested in selling the winger. Cole Palmer has already scored twice in 121 minutes of action this season. Man City don’t want to sell their attacker for less than £45 million. Palmer was selected by Chelsea as their key attacking target in the closing days of the transfer window. Recently, Man City rejected Chelsea’s £35 million opening offer.

Prior to the deadline, West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion were also keeping tabs on Palmer’s status. As a result, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that he was unclear of Palmer’s long-term future. The Cityzens academy graduate said he wants to play more. The arrival of £55.5 million Jeremy Doku from Rennes, who has given him additional competition.

Palmer still has three years left on his £27,000 per week deal. Hence, Manchester City are in a strong negotiation position, which might make Chelsea’s pursuit challenging.
