West Ham United may be given respite in their bid to hold onto Lucas Paqueta. Meanwhile, Man City show their interest in RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo as Pep is in the hunt for Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement.
The Italian journalist shared on 16th August that Manchester City are now targeting a move for Olmo. Pep is looking for a “dream” replacement for his main man De Bruyne, who is expected to miss the next four months with an injury.
Man City has shown also interest in Paqueta after seeing a £70M offer rejected by the hammers. But now City has set their sight on Dani Olmo.
Dani Olmo to Manchester City?
The potential move for Olmo to City could disrupt City’s move for Paqueta. It is well-documented how much the Premier League Champs want to bring the West Ham United star to Eithad. It will not be a surprise if they could steal them both.
The deal for Olmo will of course be a difficult one, as Leipzig has no intention of letting their star player leave following his hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup.
Dani Olmo has a £47.1M release clause that will be active next summer. Leipzig are expected to demand a handsome amount between £68.5M and £85.6M for Olmo.
Manchester City is chasing young talents and the names won’t make you question ‘why’. Just like Pochettino, two-time treble-winning coach Pep Guardiola realizes the importance of midfielders who can operate the game. He is also looking for defenders who can run like the wind. He has his sight on the 21-year-old Belgian winger, Jeremy Doku, West Ham United’s attacking midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, and now on Dani Olmo.
The most recent reports of City’s chase for Paqueta have seen Fabrizio Romano suggest that there will be a fresh bid made in the next one or two days. Meanwhile, City are expected to keep pushing for the signing of Jeremy Doku.
If Olmo is also on their list, it could be a week to celebrate for Manchester City fans.
