Cheteshwar Pujara: Wall 2.0 of the Indian test team

Cheteshwar Pujara, a seasoned Indian batsman, is poised to participate in his 100th Test match. He will play his 100th test in Delhi, against Australia on February 17. Pujara, who has enjoyed success against Australia in recent years, is eager to build on his impressive performances. In a pre-match press conference, the veteran batter expressed his disbelief at the prospect of playing his 100th Test for India when he first began his career.

Cheteshwar Pujara expressed his desire to lead India to victory in the World Test Championship Final. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, requires two more Test victories to secure a spot in the 2023 cycle Final. It will be an unprecedented achievement in the tournament’s history, as no other team has qualified for the summit clash twice within a two-year span.

Playing 100 Tests means a lot to me and my family. my father has played an important role, he will be here tomorrow. I am thankful to my family for their support, but there is a lot more to achieve,”

Pujara said.

Cheteshwar Pujara on being dropped from the test team earlier

When questioned about his period of absence from the Indian team after he and Ajinkya Rahane were dropped. Pujara acknowledged that it was a challenging experience.

It was challenging (when left out of the game), I was playing county and was in constant touch with Rahul bhai and Vicky paaji on areas I need to work and there was clear communication on that,”

Pujara said.

Asked about his style and approach to batting and the path to finding success, Pujara said :

Patience does not come on its own, you need mental strength for that. Preparations is the key, I scored runs at junior cricket, age group cricket. It requires hard work Over a period of time and I think when you focus on your game, eventually you will succeed,”
