Chiesa to Liverpool? Reports suggests that the Reds are looking to sign the Juve star

Liverpool are rumouredly preparing a shock move for the Juventus star Federico Chiesa. In a suprising turn of events, Juventus are looking to let go of Chiesa. This has rumouredly presented an opportunity for the Reds to try and sign the young player. The 25-year old player broke onto the scene in the 2020/21 season with Juventus followed by an impressive performance in Italy’s success in the UEFA Euro in 2021.

He was at that time, being recognised as one of the best young talents in the world. His incredible dribbling skills along with great consistency infront of the goal was enough to earn him this recognition. He stepped in some very crucial games for both, Juventus and Italy during that time.

However things haven’t turned to be the best him. He has been said to ‘disappear’ since the Euro 2021 by a lot of fans. An ACL injury caused him to miss out a lot games in both the 21/22 as well as the 22/23 season. More misery for him was followed by Italy’s shock failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022 as well as Juve’s downfall since 2021. Therefore, amidst the difficulties, it would be fair to say that a fresh start is the thing that Chiesa might require to bring his career back on the track.

What is the situation between Juventus and Chiesa?

According to Correire dello Sport, Juventus are ready to ‘sacrifice’ both Chiesa and Vlahovic in this summer transfer market. It is reported that the Bianconeri are looking to sell players to raise funds. Angel Di Maria has already left the club, with Vlahovic and Chiesa expected to follow him.

According to reports that Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United are interested in signing Chiesa. Reportedly, Juventus have set a transfer fee for Chiesa as well. At least £34.2million is what the clubs would have to pay to complete the signing of Federico.

Will Liverpool go for the talented Italian?

It has come as a suprise that Liverpool are looking to bring another star signing in their attack. Having signed Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool have completed an attack rebuild within a year. It looks like they a great depth in their attack now. However, it could be argued that with the departure of Sadio Mané, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi in 2022 and Firmino’s departure recently, Liverpool still might need an attacker to have the attacking depth and choices that they desire to have in their squad, especially on the right wing.

With no backup on the right wing, to cover for the superstar Mohamed Salah, Liverpool could benefit a lot from Chiesa. Being a fast, left-footed player, he has turned out to be very effective on the right side. He is also versatile player, who can play on either wings if required. But naturally, he is preferred on the right wing. Therefore, it sure seems likely that Liverpool could go for a quality player like Chiesa, to have him as a back-up for Salah for now and potentially as their main right winger after a few years.
