Christian Eriksen has accepted a contract offer from Manchester United, and the deal is almost finalised. Eriksen’s short-term contract with Brentford expired this summer. According to The Daily Star, United is the front-runner in the hunt to sign him.

Brentford took a gamble on Eriksen who had not played football since his cardiac arrest during the European Championship. He had to terminate his contract with Inter Milan due to health regulations in Serie A. He proved to be a success for the newly-promoted team, helping them to a strong end to the season.

When his short-team contract ended, Eriksen had a number of suitors. The Bees are one of the clubs who want him back.  But Manchester United have many more financial resources as compared to them. According to the source, United’s offer of £150,000 per week has given them the upper hand. Additionally, the article claims that United and Eriksen have held numerous rounds of productive negotiations.

Christian Eriksen To United: A Done Deal?

Before finalizing his decision, Eriksen is waiting to see assess United’s transfer business. The Red Devils’ lack of activity in the transfer market has frustrated many. Eriksen is reportedly wanting to see their ambition before he makes the step in his career.

So far, United have reached an agreement for left-back Tyrell Malacia. They also remain in pursuit of former Ajax players Frenkie De Jong and Lisandro Martinez. However, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has claimed that De Jong is not for sale.

Christian Eriksen can be a very handy signing. He can rotate and partner with Bruno Fernandes, relieving some of the creative burden off him. With Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata gone, Ten Hag will look for someone who can make a difference in games. Eriksen might just be his man.
