PSG has officially relieved Mauricio Pochettino of his duties after weeks of speculation. Ex-Nice manager Christopher Galtier will replace him.
A two-year contract with Galtier is in place through the summer of 2024. After leading Nice to fifth place in Ligue 1 and a second-place finish in the French Cup the previous season, he left the club last month.
Galtier famously ended PSG’s dominance in Ligue 1 after he pipped them to the league in 2020/21 with Lille. Now it remains to be seen what can he do with their star-studded squad.
He was evidently excited by the prospect of managing the Parisians. It is his first big break in a top club, and he would be eager to prove a point.
I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, I would like to thank the chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and the club for their confidence in me. I am fully aware of the responsibilities involved to coach this extraordinary team, which is one of the most competitive and spectacular squads in Europe

Mauricio Pochettino And His Time At PSG
On the other hand, Galtier’s predecessor Mauricio Pochettino leaves after a victorious league campaign. There was a lot of hype around the trio of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar in the same team. However, it did not work out for one reason or the other.
They famously squandered a 2-goal advantage in the Champions League Round of 16. Karim Benzema scored a hattrick as the eventual champions came back from behind.
Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his role at the club. The club would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future.
PSG Official Statement
Pochettino managed 84 games for his former club where he played as a defender. He had a 65% win rate during this time.
