Reports indicate that Red bull dumped press conference plans on addressing the budget cap breach matter.

Red bull is at the center of a huge controversy after FIA confirmed the team’s breach of the 2021 budget cap. The governing body found red bull to be the only team who went over the 2021 cost cap. Aston Martin came at fault for a procedural breach.

Reports indicate that Red Bull went over the budget by around $1.8 million coming under the category of “minor” overspending.

The team is yet to receive a penalty for the same. The penalty dictated by the FIA can vary from a mere fine to a deduction in championship points.

Everyone is eagerly waiting on FIA to announce the penalty with many in the paddock raising their voice for a harsh penalty to set a precedent.

Nevertheless, Red Bull is continuously denying the breach claiming their submissions to be below the budget cap. Reports indicate catering costs to be a major reason behind the overspending.

Is FIA trying to reach a settlement with Red Bull?

On Thursday before the US GP weekend, it came out that Red bull was planning to host a press conference – probably addressing this issue only.

However, according to Dutch F1 journalist Erik van Haren, the plans were called off by the team:

“Red Bull had planned to schedule a press conference Friday morning about budget cap, but that will not happen,”

Van Haren said on Twitter.

“Christian Horner must first consult with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.”

Amidst all the drama and pressure on FIA, reports indicate that the governing body has reached out to Red Bull. Reports point out that FIA is trying to reach a settlement on the issue with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit.

However, if red bull goes ahead with FIA plans and settles the matter, this will indicate that team did breach the 2021 cost cap. However, the team strongly denies it. Team boss Christian Horner has defended

The team on numerous occasions too.
