Arsenal, the Premier League leaders, are one of several teams in negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow. He attempts to find a new club outside of Germany, according to various sources.

The midfielder cost Frankfurt €10million four years ago and is deemed to be an intelligent signing for the Bundesliga team.

Despite being an decent player for Frankfurt, Sow wants a move this summer. He wants to take the next big step in his career, by joining a team fighting for the Champions League next season.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal and several other Premier League clubs are the main clubs battling to bring the 36-time Switzerland international to England. However, it will be difficult for the smaller teams to compete with Arsenal.

Sow’s contract expires in next year and there is little chance of a renewal happening. Sow knows that without a new deal soon Frankfurt will have to sell him this summer inorder to avoid the risk of him walking away from the club on a free next summer.

Arsenal looks to have held concrete talks over Sow

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be extremely happy to hear about Sow’s price this summer. Due to his contract situation currently, Frankfurt will accept a bid worth €15m during the summer transfer window. That works out at just £13.1m.

Sow might not have Premier League experience like Moises Caicedo or Declan Rice. However, he has proven to be a decent reliable midfielder in the Bundesliga and he should be able to adapt to the playing style in England. Plus, he has a lot of Champions League and Europa League experience, something which Arsenal will need going into next season.
