€33 million move to Aston Villa awaits Smith-Rowe

Aston Villa

Aston Villa is highly interested in the Arsenal star Emile Smith-Rowe. The highly rated player is value at around 33 million. They have reignited their interest in Arsenal player Emile Smith Rowe, according to reports. However, Villa were also keen on signing Smith Rowe in the summer of 2021. After which he penned a new long-term deal and was handed the No. 10 shirt.

Limited gametime for Smith-Rowe could see him moving to Aston Villa

Smith-Rowe had a fantastic 2021-22 campaign. He scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League matches as Arsenal finished fifth. After which Smith Rowe has had his fair share of injuries during his career. Now he underwent surgery back in September and has struggled for regular game time since returning. Smith Rowe is yet to make the starting 11 for his club this season. Most time he has spent on the pitch was against Bournemouth last month when he came off the bench for Leandro Trossard in the first half before leaving the pitch with an injury 47 minutes later.

He now seems to be behind Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Trossard in the pecking order. Arteta prefers other players over him now.

Charles Watt after the Southampton game said-

“It’s frustrating because we know what Smith Rowe can do and I think that number eight role is perfectly suited to him. We saw it last season at times

Arteta just doesn’t want to use him, for whatever reason – we don’t know what that is. Clearly [in] training, I don’t know, but he’s just not doing enough to impress.”

Unai Emery on the other hand is highly interested in a reunion with the player. He is highly rated by Emery. The reports claim that Smith Rowe could be sold by the gunners ‘to have more income to move in the next market’.
