Eberechi Eze once again under Liverpool’s radar this summer

Liverpool

Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze is currently monitored by Liverpool after few of their midfielders left the club this summer.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have all left the Mersyside club in this transfer window. Hence several midfielders are now on Liverpool’s watchlist.

Reds have been heavily linked with the likes of Romeo Lavia, Andre, Khepran Thuram and now Eberechi Eze. The 25-year-old was linked with a move to Anfield back in March, as per Liverpool World.

However, Rival Premier League clubs are interested in signing Eze this summer. Tottenham Hotspur are apparently eyeing a move for him , as he will deployed beside new signing James Maddinson.

Eze joined Crystal Palace in 2020 from QPR for a transfer fee of total £20 million. The midfielder has done decent for Eagles, as he registered 15 goals and provided 11 assists from 93 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile talkSPORT now reports that Eze is reluctant to sign a new contract with Crystal Palace, as he considers his future somewhere else. Journalist Alex Crook explained the situation :-

“Interesting though, it was suggested to me – I’ve not ran this story yet I was going to do it in my notebook later in the week – that there’s a contract offer on the table for Eze, but he’s not particularly keen on signing it at this moment in time so that could be another player that maybe really has suitors.”

Eberechi Eze should be a decent signing for Reds

Eze have shown sign of excellency in Palace’s Jersey in last few campaigns. Liverpool should consider him signing this summer as he is versatile and also Premier League proven.

Meanwhile his former teammate Geoff Cameron claimed that that the 25-year-old has all the attributes to sign at a top club. He said :-

“[Eze] goes at his own beat and he’s smooth, silky, sharp and kind of graceful at the same time.

“He has this ability to change the game.

“For me, I think he’ll get there [to a top club], 100 percent.

“It’s just [about] time, experience, more games under his belt, more opportunities to show his ability and [to] bang in more goals. He has it.

“Can he do it consistently every game and be that impactful? I believe he can and you’ll see it.”

His former boss Patrick Vieira described the youngster as “different class” for his performance against Liverpool last season. Eberechi Eze will be a nice aquisition for Reds this summer.
