Everton player ratings for 2-1 win against Leicester

Everton got a crucial win against Leicester to pull themselves off from the relegation zone.

The Toffees scored early in the game. The first goal of the match came just within six minutes. A beautiful cross from Alex Iwobi was met with a scintillating volley from Vitaliy Mykolenko.

However, this goal was soon canceled out after Leicester equalized in the 11th minute. A horrible mix-up in the back led to Patson Daka getting clear with the ball and scoring for the Foxes.

The Toffees again got ahead before the halftime. A save by Kasper Schmeichel was met by Mason Holgate who left no chance to bury it in the net.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was again the pick of the players. He made some crucial saves to ensure the three points for the Toffees.


Jordan Pickford 8/10

Did not have to do anything in the first half. However, he got busy in the second making a flying save from Mendy’s shot. He then soon denied Barnes. Helped the Toffees keep the lead, to win the match.

Alex Iwobi 7/10

Was strong in the back and put some good crosses. His cross was met by Daka who scored the first goal for Everton in the match.

Seamus Coleman 6/10

Got into a horrible collision with his own teammate which led to the equalizer. However, recovered after that.

Yerry Mina 6/10

Was involved in the collision with Coleman from which Leicester equalized. However, made a crucial block early on in the match. After that picked up an injury which forced him off the field.

Mason Holgate 7/10

Was not strong enough in the defense. However, scored the winner in the match and played well, rest of the match.

Vitaliy Mykolenko 8/10

Scored an eye-popping goal to open the scoring for the Merseyside club. However, was subbed because of an injury.

Anthony Gordon 7/10

Made some good runs and also made some pointed crosses.

Abdoulaye Doucoure 6/10

Got very close to scoring. However, could not leave much of a mark in the match.

Fabian Delph 7/10

Was strong in the midfield. Showed some really great skill in the match.

Demarai Gray 6/10

Played an important role in the wing. Made some good crosses into the box.

Richarlison 6/10

His effort at goal led to the second goal which also turned out to be the winner. Tried hard to recover the lost balls.
