Liverpool played a 3-3 draw against Aston Villa on the away turf on Monday. However, Jurgen Klopp delivered his verdict on the season’s conclusion as a sucess.

The Reds were in a mix for all the trophies this season at one point. They somehow failed to clinch all the silverwares except for the Carabao Cup. In the game against Villa, they were looking comfortable with a 3-1 lead but failed to capitalise it. A sloppy mistake was punished by Jhon Duran, who scored the equaliser minutes after his first goal.

Klopp delivers his verdict which ‘nobody wants to hear’

Although dashed of the title hopes in his final season, the German manager was still lauding his men. The fans must understand the success their club got after a disastrous last season. Speaking on his postmatch press conference, Klopp said,

“For me, the story of the season is that the boys have really, really good character and a sensational attitude – that’s why we were here today and that’s why we have now 79 points.

I know nobody wants to hear it, but being this season the third-best team in the league from where we came from is a statement as well.

The biggest question now is that whether Liverpool be in the title race next season or not. Their new manager Arne Slot will be having a burden of high expectations on his shoulders. The quality in the first team is obviously high for any manager. Consequently, the fans will be hoping to have a title charge again next season.

Players like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are going to have their second season under their belt, a sign of improvement for them. Had Klopp been the manager, the calculations wpuld have taken gravity. Though fir Slot, the management needs to recalculate the possibilities for any silverware.
