Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson praises Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez for his brilliant display during international break.

Nunez has already shown the world, what he is capable in this current campaign. The forward is finally looking to settling down at Anfield as there are glimpses of his real quality.

However, the 24-year-old is far from his best, but he’s currently moving in a positive direction. Nunez have already scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists for Liverpool in this current campaign.

Meanwhile, for Uruguayan, the forward have scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in the World Cup qualifiers. Under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, he’s been more lethal in front of goal.

Former Liverpool man claims Nunez can become one of Europe’s most lethal striker

Speaking to Squawka, Johnson have been discussing about Nunez’s development in this current campaign. He claims that the Liverpool forward can become one of Europe’s most lethal striker in future.

Johnson gave his verdict and said :-

“I think Nunez could absolutely become one of Europe’s elite. He impressed me a lot last year even when he wasn’t scoring, because he was still a threat. You always worry about the strikers that not only aren’t scoring but aren’t affecting the game elsewhere, which you could never say was true of Nunez. Of course he does miss chances, but he creates for his teammates, he’s a threat to defenders. He’s a fantastic player and looks the real deal.”

Johnson’s verdict on Nunez can be very true. Despite missing some open chances, the Uruguayan international has been a menace for the opposition defenders.

His movements, agression and strength are incredible, but he lacks composure in front of goal sometimes. However, with right coaching from Jurgen, Nunez should overcome this hurdle.
