Free transfers moves that Wolves could make

As the reports suggest that Wolves are monitoring the free agents market to add reinforcements into the first team.

Wolves did not make any significant signings in the January transfer window. While Spanish winger Adama Traore was allowed to join Barcelona on loan with an option to buy. The club did recall centre-half Toti Gomes from his loan spell at Grasshoppers. Toti Gomes can provide cover in defence for the rest of the season.

Bruno Lage expects Pedro Neto to step up in Adama’s absence. But the winger is still out on the sidelines and is expected to return to full fitness soon. While central midfield area remains a problem area for the manager. Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, and Leander Dendoncker are the only real options available for selection in the middle of the park.

The manager Bruno Lage has previously admitted that he wants a “different striker” to the club hero Raul Jimenez. The squad looks extremely slim and a few injuries could land the club into crisis. But there are some good names available on the free agents market.

Defenders

Former Barcelona defender Edgar Lé is available on the market after his departure from Turkish club Trabzonspor. The defender made 17 appearances in the league for the Turkish outfit in the first half of the season.

Brazilain defender Wallace who was previously linked with Wolves is also now a free agent. He was recently released by Yeni Malatyaspor. Former Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny is also available following his departure from Bordeaux. The France international made 255 Premier League appearances for the gunners. Signing Koscielny would certainly add a lot of Premier League experience to the Wolves backline.

Midfielders

The midfield options in the free agent’s market look quite limited. But former Chelsea and Brazilain midfielder Ramires is available. While former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is also without a club since leaving AFC Bournemouth in May.

While former Lyon and Roma midfielder Clement Grenier is also on the market. Grenier made 23 league appearances for Rennes and left the French outfit at the end of last season.

Forwards

Just like the midfielder list, the forward free agent list is also short. But one name, in particular, stands out. Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa is available after he recently canceled his contract at Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro. Despite being 33, Costa would add a new dimension to the Wolves attack.
