Manchester City would play their first match of the season, away, to West Ham. The defending champions would travel away from home on an opening day for the sixth time consecutively. Moreover, they would try to avoid a defeat as the last two times they fell were defeated. Last time they were defeated by Tottenham 1-0, away from home.
City’s first home match would be against just promoted Bournemouth. Moreover, they would have some easy fixtures in the month of August, with fixtures against two newly promoted teams. The Citizens would host the first Manchester derby in October and the return leg would be held in January at Old Trafford. Pep Guardiola’s side have their last game against Brentford in May.
