James Ward Prowse happy about his new role since West Ham move

West Ham United

James Ward Prowse is happy about the new role he is in since his move to West Ham this summer. The Hammers signed James Ward Prowse from Southampton for around £30 million in the summer transfer window. The 28-year old Englishman looks like a sensation for West Ham United in the midfield. Moreover, David Moyes will be glad to have signed him.

Ward Prowse has already provided two goals and three assists for the London stadium in just four Premier League games so far (Transfermarkt). Everyone is aware about the brilliance of the England International when it comes to the dead ball and set-piece threat. James Ward Prowse is a very hard-working, reliable and an exceptional dead ball specialist. However, now he has given hints about the license given to him to change as a player.

James Ward Prowse is becoming different at West Ham

The 28-year-old Hammers midfielder has been speaking to WHUFC.com about his start to the season at the London Stadium. He admits that he is a different player than he was at Southampton. He said;

“I’m just trying to be flexible. Sometimes I need to be deep to get on the ball, and sometimes I’m a bit higher, but I try to be that box-to-box midfielder here. I feel like I have the license to do both here, which is good.”

With the Saints, ward Prowse used to remain at the centre of the park and conduct the play for his side. He is surely growing as a player for the Hammers. Not just his goal contributions but also his defensive contributions have been impressive so far this season. If he goes on to rack up 12-15 goal contributions this season, he’ll have proven himself as one of the best signings of the summer.
