Jesse Lingard recent posts show him ‘grinding’ for a contract and watching West Ham win as signing decision looms. The summer transfer window may have closed but West Ham are looking make a final addition to the team. Lingard is a free agent after his contract with Nottingham Forest ended.

The Englishman shone during his 6-month loan spell from Manchester United to the London Stadium. He helped fire West Ham to within one win of Champions League qualification and their record Premier League points total.

Lingard hoping for a contract at West Ham

Initially, going by the reaction on social media, West Ham fans were against the idea of signing Lingard. Though, the scenario is looking different now and the fans are open to consider the re-signing of Jesse. Although, the signing of Lingard is not bound to transfer window, West Ham will have to make the move soon if he is to be included in the squad submitted to Premier League next week.

Some mischief n social media yesterday suggested Lingard was not at training with West Ham ahead of their game at Luton. But Lingard posts show him ‘grinding’ for a contract and watching West Ham win as signing decision looms.

Lingard recently shared a picture on his Snapchat showing himself sweating at West Ham changing room. The former West Ham man was sitting next to Edson Alvarez’s spot with a blank nameplate locker behind him. Then later on Friday evening Lingard posted a picture of him watching West Ham’s game at Luton on TV.

West Ham United failed to sign a striker before the deadline. Lingard’s ability to play as a second striker can be a huge factor for the Hammers to consider a move for securing him.
