Former Dutch footballer Wim Keift claims PSV Eindhoven forward Johan Bakayoko is still not ready to join any Premier League club this summer.
The 20-year-old might follow the footsteps of his former teammate Cody Gakpo, who joined Liverpool last January. The Dutch International is now showing his real calibre at Anfield currently.
However, Bakayoko needs little experience before joining any big European club this summer, as Gakpo participated in regular first-team football before joining the Mersyside club. The Belgian first needs to make atleast 30 senior team appearances in PSV outfit in this current campaign.
Former footballer and pundit Wim Keift, who won the European Cup with PSV suggests that Bakayoko first needs to have some experience under his belt before joining any top clubs. He also claims that clubs should avoid signing him now and said :-
“Why (sign him) now?
“Because you think you can pick him up now for 20 or 25 million euros rather than 60 million euros in two years?”
“Bakayoko has qualities as a right winger. But, in the Premier League, something different is asked than against FC Utrecht or Sturm Graz.
“Liverpool at this stage of his career…”
Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano and Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri claims that Burnley and Everton are also showing interest in the youngster. As per reports, Liverpool have personally enquired about Bakayoko for a possible move, however he might not get regular time at Anfield.
Bakayoko is aware for his footballing credentials
The 20-year-old is aware of his real potential as PSG made a failed £7 million for him back in January. Johan Bakayoko said :-
“I didn’t find it very surprising that PSG wanted me.
“I may not have been very well known to the general public before the World Cup. But I know what I can do and also where my qualities lie.”
