Jorge Mendes is trying to encourage Arsenal to sign Ruben Neves

Liverpool

Agent Jorge Mendes is trying to bring Arsenal back into the race to sign Ruben Neves with a move to Barcelona looks impossible now.

According to a report from The Sun, which states that the Wolves captain is going frustrated with the lack of clarity about his future. Neves wants to move away from Molineux and play in the Champions League next season.

Previously, Ruben Neves was destined to join Barcelona, but recent reports from Sport, suggests that the Portuguese had agreed a four-year deal with Barca.

However, now report from the Sun suggests the switch to Barcelona looks unlikely now. The Catalan Giants do not want to pay £25 million for the 26-year-old.

Ansu Fati was included in the swap deal, but he is not keen on joining the Wolves this summer, Hence, agent Jorge Mendes being force to try and take his client elsewhere.

Infact, The Sun reports that Mendes is working to gather interest from the Arsenal and Newcastle United for the Wolves captain. His agent is trying best to keep him at one of the top clubs in Europe.

However, Arsenal have other priorities this summer, as they want to sign midfielders in the window. On the other hand, Newcastle are not looking to spend some of their budget on Neves.

To see Neves in this situation, it’s a great suprise for everyone. He has been sensational for Wolves and only one year left on his current contract at Molineux.

But Neves will be a tempting option for other clubs in Europe. The Portuguese may start to become more appealing options for others.

Arsenal and Newcastle are not jumping into the chance of signing Neves. Even when Mendes is trying his best to find him a new club.
