Manchester United have been linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. It also seems the Portuguese maestro favours a move to Old Trafford.

Erik Ten Hag is in need of midfield recruitments. This is following the departure of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, and Juan Mata so for this summer. Frenkie De Jong is currently the No1 target for Erik Ten Hag in midfield. If Manchester United sign him and Neves, they could form a superb partnership in the midfield. Neves has been a mainstay on the Wolves’ side.

He joined the club in 2017 and helped the club to promotion to the top flight. He has since established himself as one of the top young midfielders in the top flight. In total, the Portugal international has made 212 appearances for the Old Gold. He has contributed 24 goals and 12 assists including some remarkable strikes from outside the box. Recent interviews and reports have indicated the player wants to leave Wolves.

WHY WOULD NEVES PERFECTLY FIT AT UNITED

In a recent interview with GIVEMESPORT, journalist Jacque Talbot said: “I think he’s vying for a move away, but I don’t know where he’ll go. I think he wants Man United – it’s the idea – but I don’t really see how he can benefit them, to be honest.”. The former Porto man looks destined to leave Molineux this summer.

Although, the owners at Wolves value him at around £100m. However, the midfielder might be worth looking for Man United. Neves is capable of sitting deep and dictating the play. It could work well alongside Frenkie De Jong next season.

He averaged a solid 6.85 rating for his performances. Neves also is great at delivering balls into the box through his set-pieces. United have struggled to score through set-pieces in recent years.

Therefore, despite his heavy price tag Manchester United should definitely consider bringing Ruben Neves to Old Trafford. He and De Jong could form a superb partnership for the foreseeable future in Erik Ten Hag’s side.
