Jurgen Klopp fears for Liverpool after Darwin Nunez update

Liverpool

After playing for his national team, Darwin Nunez experienced muscle issues that may cause trouble to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The player gave an impressive performance to his home club at Uruguay considering what little time he had to play. Nunez played against Ecuador the Celeste’s World Cup maintaining a 1-1 draw until his substitution, leading to their 2-1 loss.

The club manager Marcelo Bielsa clarified his decision in the post match conference, stating that the player felt muscular discomfort.

Thus the Reds‘ manager cannot make use of the player until further medical testing to identify the problem for sure. Until then the main suspicion is that Nunez is suffering from a hamstring injurie as a muscle tear is unlikely. Furthermore, the Uruguayan did not receive any significant impact during the game that may be the cause of the issue.

The implications of the Nunez injury on the Liverpool team

Nunez marks the fifth vacancy in the team formation, one which Jurgen Klopp may not be able to adapt to. Moreover, the available players may not be in the best shape sue to constant travel, which concerns the manager greatly.

“The boys fly now all over the world now, which is horrible, Pretty much 48 hours after our South Americans play somewhere on the other end of the world, we will play against Wolverhampton Wanderers. That will be a tough one so we have to make sure that we are ready and we will give it a go.” Stated Klopp.

Indeed, the fitness and readiness of most players is heavily questionable and it is up to Jurgen to find solutions.

Nunez’s injury is merely one of the many problems Liverpool is facing, and a very light one considering the circumstances.
