Manchester City and Juventus are ready to compete for Valencia striker Jose Gaya in the Premier League.

According to El Nacional, Manchester City and Juventus are interested in signing Spanish international Jose Gaya.

While Valencia’s 26-year-old captain is one of La Liga’s top full-backs of his age. He’s in his prime right now, and his performances continue to raise eyebrows. Whereas He is an all-action player who will fit in well with practically any squad in Europe.

Manchester City, on the other hand, have the great Joao Cancelo as a left-back option. While Oleksandr Zinchenko is a strong deputy, Benjamin Mendy’s departure creates a vacancy. The Frenchman’s shady situation becomes more complicated by the day, and one has to wonder if he even has a future in football, let alone in Manchester.

Gaya is a fan of Pep Guardiola’s, and he would relish the opportunity to bring him to Manchester City. The task, though, will not be simple, considering the level of interest in the player across Europe.

Juventus, the Italian champions, are in the process of rebuilding their squad and are anxious to sign Gaya. Alex Sandro is a good player, but Gaya is a step up and more exciting addition to the Old Lady first team.

For his part, the Spaniard is looking for a fresh challenge. His contract at the Mestalla expires in 2023, and he appears to have little prospect of extending it. Gaya has a lot of alternatives and is attracting a lot of attention from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Manchester City Keen for Jose Gaya

The Spaniard will spend the rest of the season with Valencia, looking for a way out only in the summer. Gaya is an amazing value for money property, selling for under €20 million. It would be nothing short of a miracle to sign a proven international with Gaya’s qualities for a lesser sum.

Gaya looks to want to transfer to Barcelona, but the Catalan giants aren’t interested. He is eager to play in the Champions League, something both Juventus and City can provide.

At this stage, Juventus appears to be winning the battle to sign the 26-year-old. While Allegri wants to re-establish Bianconeri as an unbeatable force in Italian football. Getting the proper players on board will make his job a lot simpler. It remains to be seen whether Guardiola can leverage his Spanish connections to get the full-back to the Etihad.
