Kevin De Bruyne shares whether he will start against Newcastle United or not

Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne reveals whether he will start against Newcastle United or not. After being brought on as a substitute against Huddersfield, there are speculations if Kevin will be starting against Newcastle. The Belgian came on to the field for the first time since August during the FA cup clash. City annihilated their opponents 5-0 comfortably proceeding to the next round. Now, the natural question is whether De Bruyne could start proceedings going forward. The midfield maestro gives an insight into how he felt playing football for the first time since August last year.

I’m happy to be back and I felt good so I’m pleased about that. But I’m still nowhere near where I need to be. There will be moments where I want to play every game, but I know in the back of my mind I need to take care of myself. I don’t expect to be playing too many games and Newcastle next week is a big game so I’ll expect to be back on the bench.”

Kevin’s fitness seems to be an up and down during the recent times. He sustained a hamstring injury last season and then again during the start of the season. The Belgian is for sure not getting any younger and these injuries can be concerning at times. He will be turning 33 soon and needs to look after his physical demands to play at the top level continuously. Another injury can raise questions on weather he can take such physical burden or not. Moreover, Phil Foden is looking very comfortable in the midfield role. Therefore it should not be a hurry to get Kevin De Bruyne back into the starting 11 quickly. A trip to St James Park will be a great game and City will wish to get a favourable outcome from it.
