Liverpool £50M Target Now Pushing for a Move to Arsenal

Liverpool

According to Football Transfers, Jurrien Timber, the Ajax defender, is attracting interest from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United. However, the latest reports suggest that Timber is now pushing for a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. In the recent developments, Arsenal are pushing for two players in the transfer window. Ajax defender Jurrient Timber and West Ham’s Declan Rice. Arsenal had their £90M bid rejected for Rice on 20th June.

All three clubs—Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool—are keen on signing the 22-year-old Netherlands international from Ajax during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports suggest that Arsenal started negotiations for Timber after learning about increased interest in the player from Liverpool and Manchester United. Although Arsenal’s initial bid of £30 million was rejected by Ajax. The Gunners remain determined to secure Timber’s services. The player himself reportedly is urging his club to facilitate a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal might beat Liverpool in the Transfer Window as well

Based on the current developments, it appears that Arsenal is likely to beat Liverpool in the race to sign Jurrien Timber from Ajax this summer. While Liverpool has shown interest in the versatile defender. Arsenal’s pursuit of Timber is more resolute, evident in their formal bid for the player.

Considering Timber’s potential, we believe he could thrive at Arsenal. At just 22 years old, he already boasts considerable experience playing for Ajax in the Eredivisie. And he has also featured in the Premier League. Last season, Timber scored two goals and provided two assists in 34 Eredivisie matches. Additionally, he made six appearances in the UEFA Champions League and played twice in the UEFA Europa League for Ajax.

It will be interesting to see how the transfer saga unfolds. But as it stands, Jurrien Timber’s desire to join Arsenal could give them the edge over Liverpool in securing his signature.
