Liverpool attempts to snatch Ibrahim Sangaré before West Hampton

Liverpool

As Liverpool still needs more depth, the club is attempting to sign West Hampton United target Ibrahim Sangaré. West Ham spent a major portion of this transfer window focusing on depth and offensive players. And despite the quality of the current roster and the many players that may potentially join, new additions may occur.

One of these potential additions was non other than Ibrahim Sangaré. However, after reconsideration, the club deemed him too much of a hassle, among other things. Indeed, The player is the target of many rival clubs which drives his already high price significantly higher. Furthermore, negotiations regarding the midfielder will be significantly undermined by the current transfer window’s deadlines.

In fact, even if the player makes his transfer to the club, he will not see enough play due to the overstocked roster. Which will lead to a case similar to Arsenal‘s Emile Smith and Rob Holding.

The odds Liverpool has against West Hampton regarding Sangaré

The Reds are one of the many clubs competing for the player, and unlike West Ham, they have actual need for him. Liverpool already has three competent midfielders that were very efficient during their Newcastle United match. However the club manager Klopp argues that they are in need of more depth.

Indeed, with over six departing players, the current midfield is rather light. Thus the need for fresh blood on the pitch is dire. The club made several inquiries about several players, but many are impossible to obtain due to both time and financial limitations. Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure for example may have been a great addition for the club, but his £70 million price tag is too much this late into the window.

Ibrahim Sangaré on the other hand is a capable player with a remarkable record and an acceptable transfer price of £32.7 million. Making him an ideal target.
