Liverpool could move for a young Portuguese midfielder this month

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp was left frustrated once again after Liverpool were held to a goalless draw against Chelsea at Anfield.

Klopp’s side is struggling with form this year. They are currently falling into the ninth position in the Premier League table. Due to inconsistent performances they have just collected just 29 points and were knocked out of the League Cup, a competition they won last season.

With the signings of Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, the reds have recruited good firepower in the frontline but the midfield has looked out of form.

The loan move of Arthur Melo from Juventus has been a disaster due to injury. But in 2023, Liverpool wants to reshape their midfield.

Liverpool are interested in a number of midfielders after a decline in form and fluidity this season and could now move for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes.

The Portuguese midfielder has been heavily linked with the Reds over the summer. Nunes has been described as an ‘unbelievable’ talent and is clearly a long-term Liverpool target.

His former teammate Goncalo Santos hailed him as “unbelievable”. He quoted saying,

“In one game, he went on a run which was about 60 metres, it was amazing! People went crazy and everybody was talking about it“.

It’s unbelievable when he has the ball at his feet. Nobody can catch him; it’s impossible because he’s too fast”.

Liverpool needs to invest 44m for the signing of the Portuguese talent.

Nunes would a great addition to this Liverpool squad and the Reds are keen on bringing him to Merseyside.
