Liverpool eyes Nico Williams as Salah’s long-term replacement

According to Spanish Publication El Mundo, Liverpool eyes Athletico Bilbao winger Nico Williams as Salah’s long-term replacement at Anfield.

Salah has scored 23 goals across all competitions for Liverpool this season. His two goals helped Reds 6:1 win over Leeds United on Monday Evening.

However, Klopp will have his whole focus on the summer transfer window as the German plans to bring some reinforcement next season. And as per reports, the manager has identified Salah’s long term replacement at Anfield.

The Spanish winger Nico Williams is identified as Egyptian’s replacement at Liverpool. Nico has been rumoured with a move to Anfield for some time, but other European clubs are also interested in his services in summer.

Nico has eight goals and six assists across all competitions this season and was described as “unstoppable” by his brother Inaki Williams. He said:-

“In one-on-ones, he is practically unstoppable…He is a talent, a rough diamond that needs to be polished.”

However, One of the team-mate has adviced him to not move away as he believes that Nico would better served staying with the Spanish Club. His teammate Gorka Guruzeta told AS :-

“Nico has many more chances to play in any club because we already know the level he has.

“He is aware of what he has here and what may be [elsewhere] in every way – pressure, titles, salary… Each [player] has to see what he wants in his life. For me, I hope he continues [with Bilbao], because we can help [him] a lot with everything.”

Nico would be an ideal replacement for ageing Salah but the Egyptian is showing on signs of slowing down.
