Midfield is the main priority for Liverpool in the next transfer window

Liverpool have stocked up on their forward position in the last transfer window. Darwin Nunez arrived from Benfica for a fee of £85 million in the summer transfer window. Luis Diaz also arrived from Porto for a fee of €45 million in the January transfer window. Despite the stacked forward department, Liverpool have struggled to make an impact in their games in the Premier League and Champions League so far. The main reason for this is their midfield. Almost all of the important midfield players are out with injury. Liverpool will spend the majority of the next year searching for the player who will fit perfectly in the midfield.

In this summer window, Liverpool were linked with a lot of midfielders across Europe. Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Brighton’s Moses Caicedo, and Wolves Ruben Neves are some of the players Liverpool had expressed their interest in the transfer window. They even made a bid worth £20m for Douglas Luiz late in the transfer window. However, Villa’s reluctance to sell Luiz led them to Arthur Melo from Juventus. Arthur arrived on a loan deal from Juventus to alleviate some of Liverpool’s midfield troubles. However, it is evident that he will need time to get acclimated to the fast-paced game in the Premier League.

Jude Bellingham is the primary target for Liverpool in the next summer window. According to the report by the Athletic, Bellingham ticks all the boxes for Liverpool. Moreover, Klopp is a huge admirer of the player. Bellingham will slot right into the heart of the team at Anfield. He has a lot of experience playing Bundesliga as well as in the Champions League. Only time will tell if the Reds can lure Bellingham away from Germany.
