Liverpool have been showing interest in English midfielder Mason Mount, for some time and latest reports suggests that Reds have submitted an offer to sign him.

Mount’s current deals in expires in 14 months and as per The Athletic, he can be lured for a high fee of £70 million. Liverpool are leading the race for the 24-year-old.

However, according to Football Insider, Liverpool and Arsenal have already made offers to Chelsea for Mount’s services in the summer transfer window. But Bayern Munich can match the offer to reunite him with his former manager Thomas Tuchel. The midfielder played an important role under the guidance of the German manager.

Manchester City and Newcastle United pulled out of the race to sign Mount as they are no longer interested in him. Reds believe they are now leading the race to get the signing done.

Mount registered 11 goals and 10 assist last campaign and he also won trophies with Chelsea with includes Champions League in 2021. However, he has struggled to find his form this season at Stanford Bridge.

Liverpool board has prepared and approved a move for Mount in the summer transfer window. Reds are lacking quality, depth and creativity in their midfield this season. Klopp has confirmed earlier that they’ll buy multiple midfielders to solve the conundrum.

But Reds must decide exactly how serious they are about acquiring the services of Mount. Other clubs in Europe are also showing interest in him but Chelsea will make the final decision in the summer.
