The Newcastle transfer comment and its ties to the current Liverpool situation

At this point in time, Liverpool is yet to sign more than three players, two of which joined at the very beginning of the window. With most of their following targets choosing rival clubs such as Chelsea in the case of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.

Moreover, the club’s current signing attempts are yet to be fruitful. The Reds recently made a bid for Ryan Gravenberch that was twice his market value. Yet Bayern Munich rejected the proposal against all odds.

Liverpool also made contact with Feyenoord to negotiate potential transfers. the club had its eyes on a particular couple, those being David Hancko and Mats Wieffer. Sadly, the Reds are left in the dark as Feyenoord are yet to set their price.

With this context in mind, Klopp seems to be taken aback by both Eddie Howe’s skill and luck.
