Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says they have a “Virgil 2.0 reloaded” in their ranks as Jarell Quansah. Liverpool academy graduate Quansah has been phenomenal this season. The English youngster made his debut against Newcastle United earlier this season. Since then, he has made nine senior team appearances so far. The Anfield academy ace has risen through the ranks over the past 15 years. He was a shining star for the U-21 team before making his senior debut this season. Moreover, many claim that he has come a long way in the past few months.
Quansah also left an impression during his loan spell at Bristol Rovers last season. Besides this, he was the winner of U-19 Euro Championship with England in 2021. He is now a consistent member of England’s U-21 team. Jurgen Klopp clearly rates the 21-year old central defender. In a video shared by O’Conor on X, the German can be seen referring to Quansah as “Virgil 2.0 reloaded.” Speaking earlier this month, Klopp admits that he would have been surprised by his quality if someone asked about him during the pre-season. He said via The Independent,
“If you would have asked me pre-season (if) he would be that good I would have been surprised. But since then I saw him every day and I am not surprised any more.
It’s great to have a boy from our own academy with that potential and quality. We will see where he ends up but it is extremely promising.
There was talk about him going on loan and we said ‘no’, that was obviously a very good decision.”
Jarell Quansah will surely be buzzing and will continue to work hard day-by-day. Moreover, Jurgen Klopp will definitely convert him into a monster as he knows how to extract the best out of hi young players.
