Pundit Danny Murphy claims that Liverpool missing out on signing Moises Caicedo this summer was “blessing in disguise” for the club.
Speaking on FiveYoutube channel, Murphy was discussing about Liverpool’s transfer speculations. After a good start to the window, Reds now face some backlash after last week’s Caicedo’s collapsed deal.
The Equadorian International joined rival club Chelsea as he had already agreed personal terms with London-based club back in May. Despite the fact that Brighton & Hove Albion agreed a move with the Mersyside club, Caicedo decided to join Blues for a record fee £115 million.
New signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are good signings for Reds, although they’ll need a holding midfielder in their ranks in this campaign. Liverpool lost both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson this summer and young Stephan Bajcetic is a good player but lacks experience in his gameplay.
Murphy backs Liverpool manager for the upcoming campaign
After the chaotic situation last week, Pundit Danny Murphy still believes that Jurgen Klopp can take positive out of it. He said :-
“Well I don’t think Liverpool necessarily leaked that, that’s got out somewhere.
“The fact is that the deal was agreed and they didn’t spend that.
“Well, the positive from that and I hear what you’re saying, other clubs now know how much money they’ve got to spend, it causes a problem, it does.
“But the positive of that is there has been some talk and some negativity around the owner’s not backing [Jurgen] Klopp.
Murphy believes supporters and club officials backs the German gaffer and said :-
“Well, not now. If they’re willing to do that, they’re willing to back him. But they’re not willing to just spend stupid money on any player.”
After all the chaos, latest reports suggests that Liverpool have signed Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo as he already has his medical booked today.
