Liverpool faced Manchester City on Sunday in what was expected to be a potential title decider. The game lived up to expectations as the sides drew 2-2 in one of the most exciting clashes of the season. The 2-2 draw means that Pep Guardiola’s side maintain their one-point lead at the top of the table.

The game was high paced from the very get-go. Kevin De Bruyne handed his side the lead in the 5th minute with a long-range effort. The striker took a massive deflection from Joel Matip and the ball went past Alisson in the other corner.

Manchester City were relentless in possession and attack. But Diogo Jota pulled the visiting side back level in the 13th minute from a Trent Alexander-Arnold pass. Pep Guardiola’s side constantly exploited the red’s high backline. Gabriel Jesus handed the home side the lead in the 37th minute from a wonderful Cancelo deep cross.

The second half was an evenly matched affair too. Mane levelled proceedings once again for Liverpool in the 46th minute from Mohamed Salah’s perfectly weighted through ball. Manchester City had many chances to grab the winner. But there was someone always in the way of the shot or it was saved. Sterling did grab the sinner late on, but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR. Below are the player ratings for Liverpool.
