It was revenge time for Liverpool to avenge their 1-3 defeat against Real Madrid in 2018. However, they felt short to avenge their defeat. They were thoroughly dominant in the first half. They had five shots on target in the first half with Madrid failing to even register a shot.

Sadio Mane even forced Thibaut Curtois to an excellent stop in the first half. Still, they had no luck and the scoreline read 0-0 in the first half. However, there was greater urgency seen in the Real gameplay after the first half. Moreover, Liverpool also looked a bit tame in the second half. This resulted in the only goal of the match.

Robertson lost the ball in the midfield, therefore, giving the Real to attack on the break. A wonderful run from Frederico Valverde down the wing and then a wonderful cross to Vinicius Jr. sealed the deal for tournament veterans.
