Liverpool: Record-Breaking Bid -Saudi Club Tempts Liverpool

“Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool just 18 months ago from FC Porto, could be on the verge of leaving the club as he attracts interest from Saudi Arabia. According to reports in the Portuguese media. The outlet Record states that Al Hilal is keen on acquiring Diaz’s services and is in preparation to make a substantial €50m offer for the transfer. This move is in belief to be a specific request from Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus. And the substantial sum involved is intended to entice the player.”

Despite Al Hilal’s reported interest and a tempting €50m offer. Liverpool is not believed to be interested in selling Luis Diaz. The club is unlikely to accept that amount, especially considering Jurgen Klopp’s desire to keep the winger in the squad. As of now, Al Hilal has not officially submitted their bid for Diaz. And it remains uncertain if they would return with a higher offer should Liverpool reject the initial bid.

Liverpool invested €47m to secure Diaz’s signature from Porto in January 2022. Since joining the English club, the Colombian winger has shown his talent. Scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists in 47 appearances.

Diaz’s contract with Liverpool is to run until 2027, and Transfermarkt currently values him at €75m. This valuation could serve as a reference point for Liverpool to maintain that his true worth is higher than the offered amount, reinforcing their stance in retaining the player.

Liverpool and their stand

Liverpool is not keen on selling their Colombia international, Luis Diaz, despite expected interest from Al-Hilal, one of the four Saudi Arabian clubs backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund.

In addition to Diaz’s situation, Liverpool is currently considering a £40m offer from Al-Ittihad for Fabinho. As a consequence, Fabinho is out of their pre-season training camp in Germany. Furthermore, Jordan Henderson has received a lucrative approach from Al-Ettifaq, a club managed by Steven Gerrard. However, Al-Ettifaq has not yet submitted a bid for Henderson, and Liverpool is firm in their stance not to accept a discounted deal for their captain.

Diaz made a significant impact after joining Liverpool from Porto in January 2022. Although he faced a setback with a serious knee injury, the 26-year-old remains a crucial part of Jürgen Klopp’s plans for the upcoming season.

While Klopp is exploring potential replacements for Fabinho, Southampton’s Roméo Lavia is being in consideration. However, Liverpool might lean towards acquiring a more experienced defensive midfielder, especially since Fabinho is 29 years old.
