Liverpool should go for João Felix in the summer

João Felix has made a great impression in Chelsea after joining on a loan this January. He made his debut against Fulham but picked up a red card.

Felix is in terrific form and Chelsea fans are quite impressed with him. Until his suspension, he was Chelsea’s best player. Deployed as a second striker, he has provided a great threat that the Blues were missing earlier. After his 3-match ban, Felix started against Fulham and scored a goal on Saturday.

However, the Portuguese attacker will remain at Stanford Bridge for the rest of the season but Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly did not include a buy option in his current contract.

Felix had a conversation with AS and stated that:-

“I feel very good at Chelsea, I like the club. There’s no option to buy in the contract, so if they want to keep me, they’ll have to find an agreement with Atlético.”

The 23-year-old may get attention from Liverpool. His play-making skills have certain similarities with Roberto Firmino whose contract is expiring this summer. Jurgen Klopp needs to find a replacement for the Brazilian.

FELIX CAN BECOME THE PERFECT SUCCESSOR FOR BOBBY FIRMINO IN LIVERPOOL

Jurgen Klopp has been a huge fan of the Brazillian’s technical abilities. The German manager described Firmino as a “connector” and further praised him in the past by saying:-

“A football team is like an orchestra, to play we need to have people for different instruments, and Bobby plays like 12 instruments in our orchestra.”

Klopp is a huge fan of Firmino’s footballing brain and said this, two years ago:-

“Those with football knowledge know how important he is”

“I’m pretty sure people will write books about how he interpreted the false nine position. I won’t say he invented it, but the way he plays it, it looks like it.”

Felix have similar attributes as the Brazilian and the Portuguese can be the perfect heir for Firmino’s position at Anfield. But it looks uncertain whether Klopp will target him in the summer transfer window.
