Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson is back in action after an injury
Liverpool have had a nightmare start this season. Constant injuries and burnout of the important players have led to a slow start to them. As such, the injury list doesn’t seem to lessen. Luis Diaz, Alexander-Arnold, and Juventus loanee Arthur Melo are all injured alongside the already injured Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita, and Curtis Jones. However, Liverpool have some good news now. Fullback Andy Robertson has made a comeback to the squad following an injury that has kept him on the sidelines for over a month.
Andy Robertson was out of action for Liverpool following their 4-1 loss to Napoli. It has been a month since his last venture in the Red shirt. However, for Klopp, the comeback couldn’t come sooner. It might be some time before Robertson starts. However, having a world-class payer in the pitch, albeit for a short time, can’t hurt at all. Liverpool takes on the dominant Manchester City in their next match in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp will need all the help he can muster to counter Manchester City.
Speaking to the Liverpool media team ahead of the clash against Rangers, Jurgen Klopp said:
“Robbo is in the squad for tomorrow; Curtis not, Ox not, Naby not. That’s it. It’s important the boys [are] coming back but it is not that you are back, train twice with the team and then here we go. It’s not like this.”
Robertson had a short cameo for Liverpool in their 7-1 rout of Rangers. They ran riot over Rangers at the Ibrox thanks to amazing performances by Roberto Firminio, Mohammed Salah, and Darwin Nunez. Firminio especially was clinical for the Reds, scoring two goals and assisting further two in a dominant performance by Liverpool.
