Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk in their recent podcast discussed the possibility of Karim Adeyemi’s potential transfer target for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.

The young German forward is in the form of his life for Red Bull Salzburg. Karim Adeyemi has netted 15 goals this term already from just 22 appearances in all competitions(stats via Transfermarkt). While he has also been in blistering form in the Champions League. His brilliant form has seen him called up for the German national squad. Moreover, he also went on to score on his debut for the German national team.

Major European clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Barcelona have all shown interest in Karim Adeyemi. However, Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for the German striker. But Liverpool remains interested and may appear as a more exciting project for Karim Adeyemi due to the influence of Jurgen Klopp.

The forward had spent two years in Germany between 2010-12 at Bayern Munich’s youth squad. While according to reports Red Bull Salzburg have placed a £34m price tag on the Liverpool target.

Anyway, a move to Liverpool may be exciting, but the Reds currently have one of the best front three in the world with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino. Diogo Jota has also come into the starting lineup and has impressed the German manager. So, an immediate starting role is out of question for Adyemi at Liverpool.

Why Klopp should move for Karim Adeyemi?

Liverpool are set to be without star winger duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane during the first month of 2022. As the duo will be participating in the African Cup of Nations with their respective nations Egypt and Senegal.

Following this, Karim Adeyemi can add some much-needed depth to the Liverpool squad, if signed in January. Liverpool’s star front three, Salah, Mane, and Firmino all have contracts that expire in 2023 and whether they will sign a new contract still remains a question. Adeyemi can hence be an option for the present and future of the football club and be the long-term successor for the ageing frontline.

RB Salzburg are known for creating some of the best talents in Europe. The list includes Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, and Daka. Liverpool already have Mane and Ketia under their ranks and would be looking to add another Salzburg prospect, Karim Adeyemi to their squad.

It is also being reported that Adeyemi wants to play in the Top-5 European leagues. following he would be keen to move to the Bundesliga or Premier League. While the £34m price tag would be a bargain for any club that can snap Adeyemi deal.
