Liverpool to bid for Raphinha using Minamino

According to The Sun, Liverpool are preparing a bid of £60 million plus Takumi Minamino for Leeds United winger Raphinha. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is desperate to replace outgoing winger Sadio Mane and the Brazilian is one of his favourites.

Sadio Mane will depart the Anfield outfit after 6 years at the club. He won all the trophies possible for Liverpool and played a key part in all their triumphs. According to the reports, Bayern Munich made a bid for the Senegalese. If all things go right, we will see Mane play for the Allianz Arena outfit in Bundesliga. The Brazilian Raphinha can be a perfect replacement for the 30-year old outgoing Mane. They will make an outlandish bid of £60 million as well as offer Minamino to Leeds United for him.

Jesse March, the current Leeds boss who replaced Bielsa, is a big fan of Minamino. He formerly worked with the Japanese when both were a part of RB Salzburg. Liverpool bought him for £7.5 million in January 2020. Since then he went on to make 55 appearances for the Merseyside club, mostly in cup competitions and coming off the bench in the league.

Raphinha to reject a move to Liverpool?

During a recent interview, the Brazilian made the following statement: “I have a contract with Leeds and this issue is resolved by my agent, when there is something, he will tell me. Knowing that there are less than six months left for the World Cup, you have to be active in the clubs. That weighs on the decision, but I am confident in my potential. Whether it is to stay or go, I am going to give my best, find my space and try to be good for the World Cup.”

Raphinha dropped a big hint that he might stay at Elland Road beyond World Cup. He is a big fan-favourite both for his club and national team Brazil. Along with Liverpool, Barcelona were at one time the favourites too. But they don’t have the finances to meet Leeds’ asking price of £60m – £70m.
