According to Bild, Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool to try and sign Randal Kolo Muani in January. The 23-year-old forward has also attracted interest from several other clubs. However, Klopp’s suggestion to Liverpool may lead to Liverpool trying hard to sign the young forward.

Kolo Muani entered the final six months of his contract which lets him discuss his future with other clubs. A contract renewal seems highly unlikely as his recent form can get him a deal at a better club. Moreover, if Nantes does want to let him go then they should do it now as he’ll be available for free in summer.

He has scored 8 goals and assisted 2 in 25 appearances in all competitions this season. Clubs like Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in signing the French forward. However, there aren’t serious conversations around the player yet. Liverpool can close the deal for £7 million which is a lot less compared to their other signings.

Liverpool must be looking for some depth and variety in their already strong attacking lineup. Kolo Muani can also be a backup if any player leaves the club in the summer or later over the years. He can profit a lot by playing under Klopp and also alongside players such Salah, Mane, Firmino, and Jota.

What can Randal Kolo Muani offer Liverpool?

Kolo Muani idolized and followed Luis Suarez while developing as a striker. He started playing as a winger but continues to play throughout the center. This can help Liverpool to play him in more than one position. He has great pace and agility to move quickly into better areas to receive the ball. Moreover, his game of finding spaces has also improved in the past few years.

Kolo Muani takes 1.3 shots per game, makes 0.8 key passes, and also completes 1.5 dribbles while getting fouled 2.3 times per game. These are very good stats while playing for Nantes and can improve if he played in a team surrounded by better players. He is capable of running at defenders and also creating more chances for his teammates.

If Liverpool signs him then he may even challenge other players for a starting place in the lineup. However, he has to get adapted to the English game as soon as he can to get the best output for himself. Moreover, he should also get enough chances under Klopp as there is already a good amount of depth at Liverpool.

Eintracht Frankfurt were close to signing Randal Kolo Muani until Liverpool interests emerged. AC Milan and Marseille are also following the developments with Randal Kolo Muani. Liverpool can sign him for a throwaway fee which is very rare in today’s market. However, a proper offer has not been placed and the player’s thoughts are also yet to be known.
