Liverpool have reportedly no plans to sign any midfielder to their current squad until the start of the 2023-24 season.

The Reds from Merseyside will look to complete at least 3 deals ahead of their pre-season. They already signed Darwin Nunez from SL Benfica for a whopping £64.1m which could rise to £85.4m with add-ons included.

Jurgen Klopp’s side also completed a deal for Portuguese youngster Fabio Carvalho from Fulham. They also tried to lure the player in the January transfer window from the Craven Cottage outfit but failed to do so.

Another incoming deal for Liverpool will be Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen. The club agreed to an initial fee of £4m for the U-21 Scotland international. The 18-year old right back will soon travel to Anfield to complete his medical with the new club.

Midfielder hunt for Liverpool

Liverpool were once in the pole position to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from the Ligue 1 club AS Monaco. But they eventually lost out to Real Madrid as the player set his heart on playing for the Spanish giants.

According to a report from The Times, Klopp is therefore prepared to hold off on signing a new lynchpin for another 12 months and is already content with the options in his ranks at Anfield. Additionally, the report also said that Liverpool determined to not sign ‘stop-gaps’ and will instead wait until 2023 before seeking out midfield targets.

Borussia Dortmund youngster Jude Bellingham is now on Liverpool’s radar for quite some time now. But the player confirmed that he would like to stay at Signal Iduna Park for at least a year. Dortmund already sold one of their hottest prospects this summer to Manchester City in form of Haaland. They will look to keep hold of Bellingham now but an intense bidding is on the cards next season for the England international.
