Liverpool now want to sign Bayern Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong in the winter transfer window as Xavi Alonso praises the youngster.
The 22-year-old has been one of the finest full-backs in this current campaign. Currently, he has been signing under Xavi Alonso at Bayern Leverkusen, who are currently at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Previously, number of clubs were interested in acquiring Frimpong but recent reports suggests Reds are very eager to sign him this winter. However, his entry into Liverpool side might change Trent Alexander-Arnold’s role at the club.
Frimpong is one of the most exciting prospect in Europe currently and he also comes with Xavi Alonso’s approval.
Alonso’s comment suggests Frimpong will be perfect for Liverpool
Before managing him at Bayern Leverkusen, Alonso has previously praised Frimpong in the past. Speaking about the fullback, the Spaniard admitted the youngster fully deserved his called into Netherland’s World Cup team last year.
Alonso praises the 22-year-old and said :-
“He deserves this chance to participate in the World Cup and He also has a very big impact on our game. He is a very good player, but for me is even a special player. It is logical that Louis Van Gaal gives him the chance because he is a difference player.”
Meanwhile, after victory against Union Berlin in November of 2022, Alonso praised Frimpong as he was key reason behind the victory. The Spaniard said :-
“The 2-0 made the big difference. We defended going forward, the pressure from Jeremie Frimpong was good. That’s the mentality we want to have.”
Frimpong’s playing style will be perfect for Jurgen Klopp as transition to Anfield will become quite easier for the youngster. Plus Alonso’s word will be hugely appreciated by the fans at the Mersyside.
