Liverpool have ‘set aside funds’ to spend big in the next transfer window.’
Football Insider is reporting that Liverpool have “set aside cash” to spend on a big signing in the January transfer window. Liverpool owners the Fenway Group are willing to spend cash on a big target transfer. They are willing to spend money on another huge transfer after shelling out £80 million for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez. This article lists some players which Liverpool can spend their money on
Jude Bellingham (the primary Liverpool target)
A list of Liverpool targets starting without Jude Bellingham looks incomplete at this point. Liverpool have had links with Bellingham all through the transfer window and even beyond it as well. However, Liverpool are not the only club that wants to sign the player. Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City are some of the cubs who also want to bring the player to their club. Borussia Dortmund values him at €150million to keep him at Dortmund. However, according to a report by the Athletic, this insistence to keep Bellingham by Dortmund will be tested by the top European clubs who want to sign the youngster to enhance their teams.
Matheus Nunes
Liverpool wanted to sign the player in the previous transfer window as well. However, he chose a move to the Premier League with Wolves instead of the Reds. A recent report has claimed that Nunes tried to delay his move to Molineux in the hopes of attracting attention from City or Liverpool. However, no such attention emerged. Moreover, the same article claims that both clubs still maintain their interest in the player. Nunes is under contract till 2027 with the Wolves and they will not be letting him get away any time soon.
Nicolo Barella
Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the transfer window as well. According to a report by Calciomercato, Inter Milan will be forced to sell the player in the next window due to the poor financial condition of the cub. Milan could sell their star players, Barella, Martinez, and Bastoni to improve the financial situation of the club.
Enzo Fernandes
Liverpool had expressed an interest in the player during his time at River Plate. However, Benfica moved for him first and tied him up on a deal for €18 million. Moreover, Fernandez has a €120 million release clause with Beneficia. So, despite heavy interest from the Reds, the deal is unlikely to happen any time soon.
