Leeds United defender Luke Ayling claims that Kevin De Bruyne will go down as the best midfielder in the Premier League ever.
De Bruyne recently completed his first ever treble with Manchester City, winning the Champions League for the first time. However, the Belgian came off early due to injury.
Ayling shared huge praise for the Manchester City star. While speaking on the Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, the defender said:-
“I mean you see what he does on the football pitch, it’s unreal, so I reckon by the time he’s done, I think you’ll look at him as the best midfielder in the Premier League.”
De Bruyne has scored 64 goals and provided 105 assists in 242 Premier League appearances so far. Back in 2015, Manchester City only paid £55 million to sign him.
The Belgian maestro played an exceptional brand of football this season. In 32 league games, his overall campaign rating of 7.58/10 from WhoScored, making him the best rated midfielder in top-flight English football.
His dominance in the Premier League over the years and the number of titles he won, it’s quite evident why Luke Ayling thinks De Bruyne will considered as one of the best midfielder in the Premier League history.
De Bruyne is undoubtedly one of the best midfielder, the Premier League has ever seen. Specially under Pep Guardiola, the Belgian have become a juggernaut, with his ideal passing and excellent shooting prowess. However, he might miss the start of the next season due to hamstring injury.
