Despite being 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, Pep Guardiola is in no mood of slowing down and with the January transfer window now open is looking to add new faces to his squad to further extend their dominance. Here’s a round up of Man City transfer news.

Despite having the best attack in the league, there are still debates whether the club needs to sign an out-and-out center-forward. The citizens have recorded 54 goals in 22 games this term so far. Pep Guardiola has deployed a ‘false 9’ system for the majority of the season. City are still yet to sign a proper replacement for club legend Sergio Aguero who moved to Barcelona in the summer.

While the only recognized striker at the club Gabriel Jesus has been used as a winger for the majority of the season. Manchester City also recently let go of Spanish winger Ferran Torres. City already have a number of world-class attackers at the club but are looking at three attacking options for the transfer window.

Man City and Harry Kane transfer news:

Reports coming out of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium suggest that England captain Harry Kane is still looking for a move away from the club. The Spurs faithful were hopeful that the appointment of Antonio Conte would conceive the Kane to stay at the club.

But MailOnline have reported that Harry Kane is still determined to look for a move away from Spurs. Reports also suggest that Spurs are under pressure as Kane has just two years remaining on his current contract.

Manchester City were linked with a move for the England international in the summer. But could not get the ideal over the line. Pep Guardiola is still interested in the striker and keen to bring the striker to the club.

Manchester City join Erling Haaland race?

According to Sport Witness,  Manchester City are set to join Real Madrid in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. Reports also suggest that Haaland is keen to move to Real Madrid. But Manchester City are ready to offer the forward a much better deal in terms of wages.

Guardiola does not have the best relationship with the striker’s agent Mino Raiola. While on the other hand, Madrid’s relations with the agent are getting back to normal now.

While Read Madrid may be able to offer better wages once they free up their wage bill. The likes of Gareth Bale, Isco, and Marcelo look are also on the move away from Santiago Bernabéu.

There is no doubt about Guardiola’s pull in the transfer market. The chance to play under Pep Guardiola may turn out to be too much for Haaland to say no to. The race to land the Norwegian forward will no doubt stretch out until the summer.

Man City ‘contact’ Vinicius Junior’s agents over a potential transfer

According to El Nacional, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has contacted the agent of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior. The 21-year-old Brazilian has been in exceptional form for the Los Blancos this term.

Vinicius has recorded 15 goals and nine assists in just 27 matches in all competitions this term. (stats via Transfermarkt) The Brazilain forward has formed a formidable partnership with French striker Karim Benzema on the pitch.

The forward’s current contract runs only until 2024. Reports suggest that Vinicius is looking for a new contract at Santiago Bernabéu to reflect his contribution to the team this season. The citizens could very well swoop in for the forward and offer him a better deal. With the recent sale of Ferran Torres to Barcelona, Manchester City have the funds to complete the signing.
