Manchester City given green light in race to sign Jude Bellingham

Manchester City are given green light in pursuit to sign Borrusia Dortmund midfelder Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old is a possible candidate to leave Dortmund next season with both Manchester City and Real Madrid are favourites to sign him in the summer. Los Blancos are looking for long-term replacement for Croatian maestro Luka Modric.

Last year, Haydn Dodge said in his exclusive Column:-

“It’s no secret – Jude Bellingham is wanted by Liverpool, but even though he fancied the move a little while ago, he’s having some doubts now and that’s because Real Madrid have made him aware of their interest.

“They have said they view him as part of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos’ replacement. They want Bellingham to make up a midfield three alongside Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga, and that is a frightening prospect.

“He could still go to Liverpool as early as January, but Real Madrid are certainly doing their best to make it difficult for Jurgen Klopp.

But Madrid’s chief rival for Bellingham’s signature are Manchester City. City also have the bank to match Dortmund’s asking price for the midfelder in the summer.

City also have Bellingham’s former teammate Erling Haaland to lure him out of Germany next season. Dortmund want around £125 million for the English midfielder and the value might go up while seeing his current form.

But the possibility of seeing Bellingham in Manchester City jersey next season is edging closer to becoming a reality.
