Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets. Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is reportedly ‘fed up’ of manager Ronald Koeman. And wants to join Manchester City to link-up with former manager Pep Guardiola once again.

According to a report by Catalan media outlet El Nacional, Busquets wants to leave Barcelona, who are currently ninth in the La Liga table. And City are reportedly keen on securing his signature next summer.

The 33-year-old has been with Barcelona since 2005. Progressing through the youth system before making his first-team debut in 2008. And he has turned out for the Catalan giants on 638 occasions. Chipping in with 15 goals and 41 assists along the way.

Manchester City are eyeing a short-term replacement for Fernandinho, who is approaching the end of the line at the Etihad. As a result, the Premier League champions are seeking an experienced head who could come in and make an immediate impact.

Busquets’s current deal at Camp Nou is due to expire in June 2023. And he had to take a pay cut over the summer due to his team’s financial problems.

Busquets keen on Manchester City move

The report claims that the City are interested in signing the holding midfielder and could offer him a two-year deal which would include an additional two years at the English club’s sister outfit New York City FC. Busquets is believed to be keen to end his career in the United States

Elsewhere, City are ready to offer Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic a ‘lucrative contract’ in an attempt to lure him to the Etihad Stadium. The Serbian striker, who is 21, has started the season in a rich vein of form for Fiorentina scoring six goals in eight appearances so far this term. As well as that, he netted 21 goals in 40 outings last season.
